While
a growing number of Americans are losing their jobs, apartments, homes
and shelter, censored in the press for over twenty years are blatant
examples of the unprecedented housing graft and corruption. HUD has
become the (un)affordable housing racket in San Francisco and, in fact,
northern California.
But among the public officials
and public employees, who haven't lost their jobs or bogus profitable
non profit HUD funded community economic development funds, is the great
James D Jefferson.
James D. Jefferson: 1339
- 41 Pierce Street in San Francisco
During the middle of the
1980s James D. Jefferson, Mary Rodgers,
Julianne Malveaux, and other political and media flotsam, set
up a sham community economic development corporation called "Urban
Economic Development Corporation."
For several years, this sham
operation received from $200,000 - $250,000 annually to ostensibly help
poor African Americans lift themselves up the economic ladder by their
own bootstraps.
But typically with this sham
economic development corporations, the operators not only rip off the
bootstraps, but heist the ladder as well! In San Francisco increasingly
gentrified black redevelopment areas, such as the Fillmore, Urban Economic
Development Corporation ("UDEC") is better known as "
Getting mine while the letting's good."
Both the critics of these
HUD programs, as well as the greedy and incompetent recipients, are
aware that an estimated 60 billion dollars is unaccounted for. One reason
for the huge amount is that HUD has funded these programs since Lyndon
Johnson's Great Society gambit.
James D Jefferson was not
only a board member of UDEC, but was appointed by (then) Mayor Art Agnos
as a member of the San Francisco Fire Commission. During the racial
and gender integration controversies involving the San Francisco Fire
Department, Federal Judge Marilyn Patel appointed Jefferson as
the court monitor to oversee the court ordered reform of the hiring
policies of the San Francisco Fire Department. There was at least one
problem with Judge Patel's order.
Jefferson's judicial appointment
automatically disqualified him from being a member of a HUD-funded poverty
funds recipient group. Also, As a federal court-appointed monitor over
the San Francisco Fire Department's affirmative action reforms, Jefferson
secretly received a house at 1339-41 Pierce Street (San Francisco) in
exchange for $59,000.(Document 1)
(Document 2) In giving Jefferson
a house at this price, which was ridiculously below the going current
market rate for similar houses, the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency
and Jefferson participated in a gross conflict of interest. Jefferson,
who still owns the house, has never responded to inquiries regarding
his, and the he San Francisco Redevelopment Agency's, real estate transaction.
Illustrated in this example
is Jefferson's gentrification of his ill-gotten gains. Jefferson's critics
think that 1339-41 Pierce Street house in San Francisco is the smoke
from a fire that can't be covered-up or extinguished.
Phil Bronstein:

and Leon Trotsky, his ancestor.
Among the media morons who
have covered up these scandals is Philip Bronstein, the former
executive editor of the old Hearst San Francisco Examiner, and now the
executive editor of the new Hearst-owned San Francisco Chronicle. Others
may know him as the ex-husband of actress Sharon Stone. Yet others may
remember Philip Bronstein as the San Francisco Chronicle editor who
took his foot out of his mouth long enough to put it into the bacteria-festooned
mouth of a Komodo Dragon (see below).

There are dozens of illegal deals involving millions of public dollars
that have illegally benefited political flotsam such as Mary
Rodgers, James D Jefferson, Christine Stoller
and Julian Fitzhugh. Fitzhugh is the HUD official responsible
for public housing in the Federal Region Number 9 which is headquartered
at 450 Golden Gate Avenue in San Francisco.
