For 50 years, two men held the elective office of San Francisco County Assessor: Russell Wolden Sr. (1916-1939) and his son, Russell Wolden, Jr. (l940-l967). In l965, rumors circulated that dozens of businesses were enjoying lower property taxes due to "arranged" assessments by the Office of the Assessor. Recently, this scandal has erupted again in the term of Mabel Teng, another corrupt politician. When the Wolden scandal was publicized, deputy assessors were exposed performing under valuations of real property in San Francisco County. Their payment was cash: a portion of those bribes/ payments went to Wolden in his capacity as County assessor.

Wolden was indicted by a state grand jury for bribery and conspiracy; after he was tried fairly, and convicted of nine felony counts, County Assessor Russ Wolden was sentenced to state prison from one to 14 years.

Wolden was also noteworthy for his after-hours activities. When he was not operating his graft and corruption in the San Francisco Assessor's Office, Wolden jr. attended the Church of Satan, which evolved from the Magic Circle of the Trapezoid.

According to Anton Le Vey, the satanic high priest, among the attendees at these satanic soirees were prominent artists, attorneys, doctors, writers, porno filmmakers, law enforcement officers and property owners such as Donald Werby.

Among the other prominent attendees were anthropologist Michael Harner, Shana Alexander, a grandson of a US President, the Baroness Carin de Plessen, from Denmark and others who gathered into La Vey's circle of magical compatriots

As an example of just how small San Francisco is, Anton Le Vey was an investor in the Palladium, the youth disco in San Francisco's North Beach Club area. This now notorious disco was the site of the "stalking, drugging, luring and rape" of then eighteen year old Steven R. Nary, the dumb, naïve and inexperienced US navy sailor victim of homosexual predator Juan Pifarre.

Since the state conviction of Russell Wolden, no San Francisco City and County public official or employee has been indicted, prosecuted and of course convicted, by the state of California and/or the federal Government.

In the early nineteen twenties. Members of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors/ Alderman and Mayor Eugene Schmitz were prosecuted for public corruption. But there has been no federal prosecution of the glaring and apparent public corruption, which spans from city hall, and the non-accountability for millions of dollars of federal funds to the school district, housing authority to the redevelopment agency.

The late John Barbagelata was the last ethical and honest San Francisco public official, who publicly attacked political corruption, graft and perversion in San Francisco's and related California public life.

No public figure has had the courage or the cojones to step forward into Barbagelata's shoes and push and fight for the cause of honest, ethical and competent government.

This fact may be the reason that rampant graft and political corruption exists with impunity in San Francisco County. Or why things are the way they are!

If San Francisco City & County's corrupt officials and the federal government prosecuted employees, it could be dubbed "Gay Lord" in a verbal derivation of the "Greylord Prosecution" of Cook County's corrupt judges and public officials.

Unlike other corrupt political machines and their local corruption, San Francisco's political corruption is spiced up with sexual preference. Or Gay Rico/--RICO is the federal abbreviation for "racketeering."

Big Bill Thompson was the US Attorney for Northern Illinois, when the federals indicted and successfully prosecuted judges and politicians such as, Tom Keane, then the chairperson of the Chicago City Council.

Over ten Cook County Judges were successfully prosecuted. Thompson's successful prosecution of Cook County's corrupt judges and officials catapulted him in the Governor's chair, where he successfully sat for three successive terms.

However, Otto Kerner, a gubernatorial predecessor of Thompson, of Thompson, a former US Attorney himself, and an Illinois political hack, who was appointed to the 7th federal circuit Court of Appeals, himself was indicted, successfully prosecuted by Big Bill Thompson, and Convicted.

Kerner was sentenced to the federal prison in Minnesota. Despite his appeals as a federal judge, the US Supreme Court refused to review his prosecution and conviction.

A media source informed VERITAS USA! "That twenty years later" these investigations and prosecutions are ongoing, and they bag corrupt judges, corrupt lawyers and other politicians."

But there are no public corruption investigations, indictments and prosecutions in San Francisco City & County!
