For nearly twenty years, Gilberto Osorio has flip-flopped on the issue of his involvement in the assassination of four off dutyUS Marines and diplomatic personnel, who were at an outdoors café in San Salvador.

Recently, Nary's special investigator obtained a copy of the San Francisco City College paper, in which Osorio stops short of admitting his involvement in those 1985 assassinations.

Included here is an excerpt from a US Government report briefly describing the assassinations:

The attack

At around 8.30 p.m. on 19 June 1985, six United States marines who were responsible for security at the United States Embassy sat down at an outside table at Chili's restaurant in the area known as the "Zona Rosa" in the San Benito district. They were regular customers known to the owners of restaurants and cafes in the area and to those who worked there. They used to go there in groups whenever they were off duty. After a while, two of them left the group and went to sit down at a table in the Flashback restaurant a few yards away from their companions at Chili's.

At around 9 p.m., a white pick-up truck with dark stripes parked outside the La Hola restaurant; a group of some seven individuals got out and walked over to Chili's and, without warning, fired a volley of shots at United States marines Thomas Handwork, Patrick R. Kwiatkoski, Bobbie J. Dickson and Gregory H. Weber. The marines were in civilian clothing. There is no evidence that they were carrying weapons.

The Osorio-Zona Rosa episode is relevant to the Pifarre-Nary Navy case because:

  1. Jim Kiefer, a US State Department Official was involved in the immigration investigation of Pedro Andrade, one of the individuals accused of being involved. Andrade fled El Salvador and sought asylum in the US.
  2. Kiefer was interviewed by Ed Bradley, of CBS'S 60 Minutes News Show regarding this controversial assassination. 60 Minutes did do a follow up broadcast on the case.
  3. In October of 1999, Kiefer, a conservative, quiet ethical gay man testified against Juan Pifarre in the Hallinan-Farrell -Ryan judicial sodomy of sailor Nary. Kiefer also knew Pifarre, and witnessed his outrageous behavior.
  4. Like Juan Pifarre, Gilberto Osorio is also a controversial non-accountable recipient of federal poverty funds from HUD. Some suspect that some of these funds may have been laundered to finance terrorism in South America.
  5. George G. Walker, the corrupt black panther connected lawyer, who chased after the Nary case, in pursuit of the $35,000 full prepayment, was also involved in a PLO, Palestine Liberation Organization case that involved the suspected laundering of federal food stamp funds from grocers, who supported Arafat and his militant terrorist organization.

The photo of the assembled marines includes victims of the Zona Rosa Massacre. These Marines guard American Embassies around the world.
