On July 1, 1993, Gian Luigi Ferri used two TEC-DC9 Assault pistols, manufactured and sold by defendant NAVEGAR, INC., dba INTRATEC FIREARMS ("Intratec" or "defendant"), in a commando-style attack on the Pettit & Martin law firm housed in the 101 California office building in downtown San Francisco (see below).

With deadly efficiency, Ferri killed eight people and wounded six more in a matter of minutes. A Petit & Martin plaintiff, Michelle Schully, was not only shot and permanently wounded during Ferri’s rampage, she witnessed her husband John’s death as he tried to shield her from Ferri's bullets.

Often in these murderous rampages--whether Virginia Tech, the  Nebraska Mall etc., innocent people are injured or killed.

However, what the media didn't report was that Gian Carlo Ferri had sought a   HUD/ US Department of Housing & Urban Development Retirement Home Contract to develop a retirement home in the town of Pleasanton, California.

Ferri had apparently given Petit & Martin the last of his money to get a HUD contract.  When Petit & Martin didn't, or couldn't produce, he apparently snapped since he had nothing left to lose.

Ferri had gone to Petit & Martin because they were a HUD-connected law firm, among other similar San Francisco law firms, which was involved in controversial affordable housing deals, etc. 

 John Martin, one of the law firm's partners, was also on the board of directors of Chinse Community Housing. The executive director of Chinese Community Housing happened to be a controversial San Francisco developer ,Gordon Chin.  Chin is known as a local San Francisco political operative and San Francisco Public Utilities Commissioner. Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi is a supporter of  HUD and FANIE MAE/FREDDIE MAC housing developers.

When tenants in these HUD subsized housing corporations complained to Pelosi, she refused to hold the publically-financed developers accountable for their tenant abuses and non-accountablity for federal housing funds.

Petit & Marin also was the legal representative for Chinese Community Housing (CCH).   When tenants sued CCH and Gordon Chin for physical abuse and slum conditions that remained uncorrected in the HUD subsidized housing operated by Chin and CCHC, Pelosi refused to intervene.

Since the Petit & Martin scandal, Gordon Chin renamed his  corporation"Chinatown Community Development Corporation."

Recently C.W . Nevius, a San Francisco Chronicle columnist, reported that a "70 year old man was evicted by Chinatown Development Corporation," from one of their HUD-subsidized projects.

Few media people and political cognoscenti are aware of the web that this corporation has woven:  


 Slum housing conditions

1. Decrepit common facilities such as toliets and bathtubs
2. Unsafe common kitchen --Broadway building
3. Drugs--prostitution--pornographer--Hong Kong connection
4. Voter registration fraud
5. Homeless Assistant Payments in the names of dead people.
6. HUD checks plus vacancy payments were received by Chin's corporation at the Cambridge Hotel at 473 Ellis in San Francisco.
7. Total Checks ranged from $20,000-$25,000 monthly.

Such a deal.

It is not known whether Petit Martin's lawyers are still on CDC's Board of Directors. Often directors worried about their reputation quit! Some of these directors appear to be respectable front people, a practice used successfulliy by the Mafia when it set up companies or infiltrated respectable businesses.

John M. Farrell was among the other controversial lawyers, who are linked to one of the law firms in the 101 California building.  Farrell was involved in notorious Judicial sodomy of Steven Nary, a  young US Navy sailor, who was lured and attempted-raped by Juan Pifarre.

 Jack Cashill, non-fiction author and son of a policeman, exposes   prosecutor John M. Farrell in his book "What's the Matter with Calilfornia, Cultural Rumbles from the Golden State."

Among the other connections to 101 California Street is a bank that held assets controlled by the late and unlamented Rev. Jim Jones. Remember Jamestown, Guyana, Kool Aid, and hundreds killed?  And speaking of deaths, a few of these banks are also involved in the world wide mortgage scandal which is destroying major financial institutions.

During Rev. Jones' residency in San Francisco, he was connected to corrput public officials who were also involved in the Juan Pifarre case.
